Protect Release Notes - November 2025

Welcome to the November release of Protect. This month, we are introducing a major upgrade to how you organize your site with the System Hierarchy Tree, alongside significant improvements to detection accuracy, webhook flexibility, and rule configuration.

Key Features

New System Hierarchy Tree

We have replaced the flat asset list with a structured, visual tree view, allowing you to organize your site into a logical hierarchy (e.g., Region > Building > Floor).

  • Logical vs. Physical: Easily separate where a device is physically installed (e.g., Server Room) from where its stream is logically watching (e.g., Main Entrance).

  • Drag-and-Drop Organization: Reorganize devices and streams instantly by dragging them to new folders.

  • Granular Filtering: Click any location in the tree to filter data tables (Devices, Streams, Alerts) specifically for that zone and its sub-zones.

Enhanced Webhook Capabilities

We have upgraded our webhook infrastructure to support deeper integration and easier authentication with third-party systems.

  • API Key Authentication via URL: You can now pass authentication credentials directly within the webhook URL string, simplifying the connection process for secure integrations.

  • Payload Enrichment: Webhook payloads now support the inclusion of external reference IDs, making it significantly easier to correlate Protect data with records in your external databases or VMS.

Core Logic & Performance

Updated Detection Logic Quality

We have deployed an update to our core vision algorithms to improve detection reliability in complex environments.

  • Higher Accuracy: Refined logic reduces false positives while maintaining high sensitivity for Persons of Interest (POIs).

Status Icons for People List Quality

Managing watchlist quality is now more intuitive. We have updated the status icons within the People List to give immediate visual feedback on enrolment quality where there are multiple images allowing an icon with combined poor and good quality enrolments.

System Management & Configuration

Flexible Rule Generation (No Evidence Clip)

To support stricter privacy requirements and reduce storage overhead, you can now configure rules to generate alerts without an attached evidence clip.

  • Metadata-Only Alerts: Receive real-time notifications and data logs for an event without recording or storing the associated video snippet.

Streamlined Provisioning Process

We have updated the device provisioning workflow to be faster and more informative.

  • Improved Feedback: The system now provides clearer status updates during the provisioning phase, reducing uncertainty when onboarding new hardware, allowing deletion and re-providing of existing devices.

New Notification & Session Settings

  • Instant Audio Alerts: A new user setting allows for immediate audio feedback when an alert is triggered, ensuring critical events are never missed.

  • Persistent User Sessions: Operators can now configure their session to prevent timeouts, keeping the dashboard active on monitoring screens without the need to re-login.

Hardware Support

Orin Nano 8GB Evaluation: We have added support for Orin Nano 8GB devices. This allows for cost-effective performance lighter hardware without sacrificing system capabilities.
